PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support device capable of utilizing a landscape image photographed on a forward path for route selection or automobile guidance determination on a backward path, and solving the problem wherein, when a rolling shutter type CMOS area sensor is used for an on-board camera device, an image strain caused by a reading-out method is generated.;SOLUTION: A camera 110 loaded on the automobile images a backward landscape image in the traveling direction of the automobile by a global shutter type CMOS sensor 112. Each landscape image photographed by the camera 110 at each desired spot at a forward path traveling time of the automobile is recorded in a recording medium by a recorder 120. Thereafter, at a backward path traveling time of the automobile, a landscape image of a desired spot photographed at the forward path traveling time is reproduced from the recording medium at a fixed time before the desired spot, and displayed on a screen frame upper part 133a of a display 130, and upper surface chart information of a map of a traveling spot, a traveling position of the automobile or the like is displayed on a screen frame lower part 133b, to thereby enable comparison between both images, and to support driving.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
