PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a woody composite building panel having satisfactory dimensional stability and rigidity and also usable as a load bearing surface material.;SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the woody composite building panel A comprises placing a back side half-cut MDF1b on a lower press plate 7 so that the face layer 11b thereof becomes a lower side and the half-cut surface 12b thereof becomes an upper side, forming a mat layer by scattering wood chips 2 over the exposed core layer of the half-cut surface 12b of the back side half-cut MDF1b along with an adhesive 3, placing a surface half-cut MDF1a on the mat layer so that the face layer 11a thereof becomes an upper side and the half-cut surface 12a thereof becomes a lower side holding all of them by upper and lower press plates 6 and 7 and heating and pressing them to integrally laminate three layers having the core mat layer as an intermediate layer C.
