PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a signal waveform from being distorted and to quickly follow a change in the level of an audio signal when an envelope of an absolute value of an audio signal is detected and a bass component of the audio signal is amplified in accordance with the envelope value.;SOLUTION: If an absolute value ABS of the current sample is greater than or equal to an envelope value ENVs at the immediately preceding sample, a count value C of the number of samples is made 0 and an envelope value ENV is made greater than the envelope value ENVs at the immediately preceding sample. If the absolute value ABS of the current sample is smaller than the envelope value ENVs at the immediately preceding sample and the count value C does not reach a predetermined number N, the count value C is incremented by one and the envelope value ENV is held at the envelope value ENVs at the immediately preceding sample.
