PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for conducting a nuclear quadrupole resonance test of a sample including a quadrupole nuclear, and distinguishing a true nuclear quadrupole resonance response signal from a spurious signal obtained from the sample.;SOLUTION: The method includes: a step for applying a pulse sequence including at least a first single pulse and a second single pulse to the sample, and exciting nuclear quadrupole resonance; and a step for detecting the response signal. In the exciting step, a magnetization generated by the first pulse is partially locked by the second pulse. A duration between the first and second pulses is shorter than a length of the second pulse. The length of the second pulse is shorter than a half of T1p of the quadrupole nuclear. The duration between the first and second pulses and the length of the second pulse are sufficient to partially attenuate the spurious signal before a step for detecting the spurious signal obtained from the first pulse.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
