PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reagent for judging tree decline, intended for solving such problems that it is a fact that decline and withering of trees such as pine tree death as a social problem recently occur in a wide area of a global scale, and accurate causes of pine tree death are not specified yet, and are assertively judged as damage by pine weevil, so it is hard to say that an effective measurement excluding prevention is devised.;SOLUTION: The reagent is intended for judging the demand degree of essential nutriment for tree plants as a target, regardless of experience of a worker, taking into consideration the actual state of pine tree death as social phenomenon, especially from the standpoint of making pine trees planted in a golf course healthy. The reagent is obtained by mixing and adjusting at normal temperature 85-98 wt.% of ethyl alcohol as a base material, 1-10 wt.% of guaiocum resin and 0.1-1 wt.% of isopropyl alcohol. A method for judging the demand degree of nutriment comprises using the reagent to react with sap and judging the necessity of fertilization from a degree of coloration from blue to dark blue by the reaction.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
