PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, a sign diagnostic apparatus, a sign diagnostic system and a sign diagnostic program, capable of diagnosing a sign of a fault accurately. PSOLUTION: The sign diagnostic apparatus comprises: a monitoring means for monitoring the generation of a sign of fault generation in an electronic circuit device on the basis of information featuring the execution state of a component control program describing the control procedure of components constituting the electronic circuit device and a function program describing the execution procedure of one or a plurality of component control programs in order to provide functions that the electronic circuit device has; and a diagnosing means for diagnosing the sign whose generation is monitored by the monitoring means by using a model for which the abnormal execution state of the component control program, the abnormal execution state of the function program and the sign generated by the abnormal execution state are related by causality.
