PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive solid fuel using combustibles such as plastics and/or rubbers in industrial waste shredder dust, contributing to resource saving and energy saving, giving calorific value comparable to fossil fuel, and controllable in the calorific value, and to provide a method for producing the solid fuel.;SOLUTION: The method for producing the solid fuel comprises the following process: nonferrous metals are separated and removed by an eddy-current separator from heavy dust separated by a pneumatic separator from shredder dust from industrial wastes, especially waste automobiles, and the remaining dust including plastics, rubbers, copper wires and glass is separated by a separator using water or a liquid of specific gravity into a fraction less than 1.0 in specific gravity floating on water. The dust including plastics and rubbers of ≤1.0 in specific gravity and wood chips obtained by grinding wooden industrial wastes are mixed together in a predetermined ratio, and the resulting mixture including the plastics and wood chips is subjected to volume reduction by a relevant machine followed by solidifying.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
