PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately fix correction of written characters on the paper surface of a form with characters written thereon by use of a handwriting input system.;SOLUTION: The handwriting input system 1 comprises: a digital pen 5 for reading a dot pattern on a slip 2 and generating handwriting information; a handwriting image generation part 8 for generating a handwriting image obtained by converting handwriting of the digital pen 5 into image data from the handwriting information; a character recognition part 9 for inputting the handwriting image and recognizing characters; a correction instruction detection part 12 for detecting a cancellation character specifying line specifying a character to be deleted from a character recognition result and a deletion character number specifying line specifying the number of the characters to be deleted from the handwriting image; and a character recognition result correction part 16 for correcting the character recognition result by the character recognition part 9 on the basis of a detected result by the correction instruction detection part 12.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
