PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel load/lateral pressure sensor and its measurement method, capable of extensively reducing capability of raised derailment accident of railway vehicle, using only the wheel load/lateral pressure sensor stack on the periphery of the wheel of the railway vehicle, without requiring expensive data processors and that can continuously measuring the wheel load and lateral pressure.;SOLUTION: In wheel load/lateral pressure measuring devices 8 and 9 and its measuring method for respectively detecting the wheel load strain and lateral pressure strain that accompany the vertical load and horizontal force generated in a wheel 1, the wheel load and the lateral pressure measurement data are outputted, by converting the measurement data from a wheel load strain gauge 8a and a lateral strain gauge 9a with a Wheatstone bridge circuit 42. The wheel load and lateral pressure measurement data are outputted continuously in real time, by continuously arranging a plurality of wheel load strain gauges 8a on the circular periphery, without being affected by a prescribed lateral pressure on both the front and the rear surface of the wheel 1, and continuously arranging the plurality of lateral pressure strain gauges on the circumference, different from the positions where the prescribed wheel load strain gauges 8a of both the front and rear surface of the wheel 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
