POINT ADDING METHOD IN BINARY FINITE FIELD FOR EMBODYING FAULT DETECTION OPERATION USING FAST MONTGOMERY POWER LADDER ALGORITHM, AND ADDITION OPERATION APPARATUS
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a point adding method in a binary finite field for embodying a fault detection operation, utilizing a fast Montgomery power ladder algorithm, and to provide an addition operation apparatus.;SOLUTION: The point addition operation method in the binary finite field includes a step for computing a first coordinate value that is the result of the addition operation, by performing the addition operation in the binary finite field concerning the first and the second points established, based on a basic point within an elliptic curve; and a step for computing the second coordinate value that is the result of the addition operation by performing the addition operation in the binary finite field concerning the first and the second points. The addition operations in the binary finite field, concerning the first and the second points reflect the differences between the first coordinate values and the second coordinate values of the first and the second points. Consequently, the correct fault detection operation will be performed by a cryptography system by using the fast Montgomery power ladder algorithm.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
