PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly and precisely retrieve a desired object in a document image by analyzing the logical structure of each of image areas different by attributes.;SOLUTION: An area identifying part 103 identifies attributes of an extracted area (the position, the size, the shape, etc, of the area). A logical structure analysis processing part 104 analyzes the logical structure of a document on the basis of attribute information of the area to extract objects, and a similarity calculation part 108 obtains similarities between respective extracted objects and respective objects in a storage part 107 to retrieve an object image.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
