PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a medium printing apparatus which can shorten the processing time of a medium.;SOLUTION: The method for controlling the medium printing apparatus includes a comparing step S12 which compares a setting moving time X for a printing/erasing means from a specified waiting position to a printing/erasing enabling position with a setting conveying time Y for the medium from a conveying starting position of the medium conveyed toward the printing/erasing means to a printing/erasing starting position where printing/erasing on the medium is started, precedent driving steps S13, S14, S20 and S21 for driving precedently either one of a medium conveying means or the printing/erasing means from the result of comparison in the comparing step S12, and a simultaneously driving steps S15-S17 and S22-S24 for simultaneously driving the medium conveying means and the printing/erasing means after the precedent driving steps S13, S14, S20 and S21 so that an attaining time of the printing/erasing means to the printing/erasing enabling position and an attaining time of the medium to the printing/erasing starting position approximately coincide with each other.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
