PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer, a printer controlling program, and printer controlling method by which banding being generated on a printed image resulting from a flight bending or unevenness in the density can be eliminated or made to be hardly visible by compensating a proper compensation place in image data for a printing object.;SOLUTION: This printer 100 is provided with a test pattern image printing indicating section 16, a density information extracting section 18, a first and second test pattern image data forming section 19, a region dividing section 20, and a compensation region determining section 21. In this case, the test pattern image printing indicating section 16 performs the printing indication of a test pattern image which is used for the determination of a compensation region. The density information extracting section 18 extracts density information from the printed test pattern image. The first and second test pattern image data forming section 19 forms first test pattern image data from the extracted density information. The region dividing section 20 divides the region of the test pattern image into a plurality of divided regions based on the formed first test pattern image data.
