PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for relieving alcoholic drunkenness that is safe to the human body and highly effective, and food and drink containing the same. PSOLUTION: An imidazole dipeptide compound and/or a salt thereof is used as an effective ingredient for relieving alcoholic drunkenness. Preferably, the imidazole dipeptide compound and/or the salt thereof in the composition for relieving alcoholic drunkenness is at least one selected from the group consisting of anserine, carnosine, balenine, and salts thereof. Also preferably, the imidazole dipeptide compound and/or the salt thereof is one obtained by extraction from at least one selected from the group consisting of fish, fowl and flesh.
