PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration damping and fire-proof means capable of solving problems caused by coating.;SOLUTION: A damping material (1) composed of a constraint layer (3) and a resin layer (2) is directly coated to a part of a constituent of a ship at the side of the resin layer with the part of the constituent as a body to be coated. The constraining layer is formed of an inorganic material, and the resin layer has viscosity. The resin layer has an organic mass of 0.2-0.6 kg/m², and a coefficient of loss in a state that the vibration damping material is adhered to the fitted body is set at 0.1 or larger.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
