PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-period earthquake detection device for an elevator capable of detecting long-period earthquake by a simple and inexpensive configuration by utilizing instruments normally installed in the elevator.;SOLUTION: When receiving the information about occurrence of an earthquake informing that the earthquake occurred in a remote place from the outside, this long-period earthquake detection device stops an elevator car and detects whether long-period earthquake occurred or not by utilizing the instruments normally installed in the elevator. Whether the long-period earthquake occurred or not is detected based on, for example, an output value of a weighing device 18 for detecting weight of the car, an output value of a travel amount detector 19 for detecting travel amount of the car, and an acoustic level of sound collected by a sound collection microphone.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
