PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a selection method and system of a transport mode capable of automatically selecting an optimum transport mode while various conditions are considered.;SOLUTION: A transport mode selection means 1a selects an optimum transport mode for transporting a product to an destination based on a product supply schedule given from a desired deadline for delivery, a place for delivery, carrying conditions, and a supply schedule control means 1b. A transport mode is, for example, railroad transportation, daytime trucking, and trucking including night transportation and the number of days required to transport from a shipping place to a destination of each transport mode is stored in a transport mode table 1c, the transport mode selection means 1a selects a transport mode capable of transporting to the deadline for delivery (or its neighborhood) by referring to the transport mode table 1c.
