PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide backfill lightweight and easy to handle with high compressive strength and securing a stable filled state in an excavated pit even if used in a place with a high underground water level, for instance, and to provide a filler for back filling using the backfill, and a back filling method.;SOLUTION: This backfill 1 filled in the excavated pit formed in the ground is a synthetic resin molding which presents approximately spherical shape on the whole, and is formed with a plurality of wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 whose end faces 3a, 4a, 5a, 6a, 7a form the net-like outline surface of the spherical shape.
