PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for inspecting a rapture of a steel material capable of inspecting the rapture of the steel material by a principle different from that in the prior art.;SOLUTION: A transmitter 2 and a receiver 3 for an electromagnetic wave pulse are arranged separatedly on an inspected surface 11 of reinforced concrete. The electromagnetic wave pulse is transmitted from the transmitter 2 to a reinforcement inside the concrete 12 of the steel material 20 existing in a position separated from the inspected surface 11, and received by the receiver 3.
