PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly recover deterioration in a radiation pattern on the occurrence of a fault in an antenna element.;SOLUTION: The phased array antenna system for changing radiation patterns of a plurality of arranged antenna elements to transmit power, includes: a feeding signal acquisition means for acquiring part of the power supplied to a plurality of the antenna elements; a faulty element position discrimination means for discriminating the presence of a fault in each antenna element to acquire positional information of an antenna element discriminated to be faulty on the basis of the power obtained by the feeding signal acquisition means; a recalculation element selection means for selecting an antenna element for recalculating an exciting coefficient on the basis of a discrimination result obtained by the faulty element position discrimination means; and a control means for controlling the amplitude and the phase applied to the antenna elements on the basis of antenna element information and the exciting coefficient obtained by the recalculation element selection means.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
