PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify in vivo molecules promoting proliferation of cancer cells to provide a method for identifying antitumor agents based on the molecular mechanism of the molecule and to provide antitumor agents. PSOLUTION: A double-stranded polynucleotide inhibiting expression of Rho-GEF gene is provided. A method for inhibiting expression of Rho-GEF gene, a method for inhibiting Rho-GEF, a method for suppressing cell proliferation, or a preventive and/or therapeutic method of cancer, which are characterized by using the double-stranded polynucleotide, are provided. An identification method of cell proliferation suppressing agents or anticancer agents, which method refers expression of Rho-GEF gene and/or inhibition of Rho-GEF function as an index, is provided.
