PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer which has good dot reproducibility, good graininess in highlight portions, has a decreased edge effect, makes high image quality of reduced scumming obtainable, and hardly gives rise to carrier sticking, a developer container in which the developer is housed, an image forming device which is mounted with the container and further, a method for manufacturing a carrier. PSOLUTION: The developer for electrophotographic development is prepared by mixing toner particles containing at least a binder resin and coloring matter and having a weight average grain size Dt of ≤8 μm, and a carrier. The weight average grain size of a carrier core material constituting the carrier is 20 to 45 μm, and the content ratio of the particles below 44 μm in grain size in the carrier core material is ≥80wt% and the content ratio of the particles below 22 μm in grain size is ≤5.0wt%. Further, the magnetic moment at 1 KOe of the carrier core material is ≥40 emu/g. A high-resistance coating layer is formed on the surface of the carrier core material and a low-resistance coating layer B is formed thereon. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
