PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an olefin polymerization catalyst capable of giving a molded product through excellent molding processability with such characteristics as high fluidity and high melt tension in a molten state, high in closed cell content even under extrusion molding with high expansion ratio, and also high in wall thickness uniformity under large-size blow molding, and to provide a method for producing an olefin polymer using the catalyst.;SOLUTION: The olefin polymerization catalyst comprises a transition metal catalytic component (A) for olefin polymerization obtained by irradiating a polymer-containing transition metal catalytic component (A') comprising a transition metal catalytic component (a1) and 1-500 g, per g of the component (a1), of an olefin polymer (a2) with ionizing radiation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
