PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting the dose of a drug metabolized by CYP2C8 and avoiding adverse effects thereof when administering the drug metabolized by the CYP2C8 as a medicine.;SOLUTION: The CYP2C8 without an activity is expressed in a human having a deficiency of the newly found 471st base of the CYP2C8. As a result, the drug to be a substrate for the CYP2C8 administered in vivo is presumed not to be normally metabolized and to cause a rise in drug level in vivo and the production of the adverse effects. Thereby, the dose of the drug metabolized by the CYP2C8 can be adjusted and the production of the adverse effects can be suppressed by examining the monobasic deficiency before administering the drug metabolized by the CYP2C8.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
