PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector which allows trapezoidal correction to be accurately performed without using an acceleration sensor, a method for acquiring a tilt angle of the projector, and a projected image correction method. PSOLUTION: A distance measuring sensor 21 measures distances to a plurality of points on a screen 31. An angle calculation part 23 obtains a formula of a screen plane to calculate tilt angles θSBV/SBand θSBH/SBof the screen 31 to an optical axis of projection light, on the basis of a plurality of distance measurement data resulting from measurement of the distance measuring sensor 21. The angle calculation part 23 supplies the calculated tilt angles θSBV/SBand θSBH/SBto a trapezoidal correction part 12.
