PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically specify an optimum sound generating part for a chord practice application on a personal computer.;SOLUTION: Playing information consists of chord playing (parts 4 and 5), percussion playing (a part 10) and other event information (parts 1 to 3 and 6 to 9). When a user clicks a solo button 42 with a mouse, only a (solo mode) chord and percussion playing are reproduced. When a mute button 43 is clicked, parts other than a (mute mode) chord playing are reproduced. The user easily comprehends rhythm feeling by reproducing not only a chord but also percussion sounds in a solo mode.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
