PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure PSNR (peak signal to noise ratio) of a full color video signal for both total and component contributions. ;SOLUTION: The component video is converted into RGB values in step 12, and the error value of each RGB channel is calculated in step 14. Other component test values are converted into reference values to obtain the contributions of each component in step 16. The total in the RGB values is calculated in step 18.
