PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent corrosion of a container due to by sea salt particles adhering to the radioactive material storage container. PSOLUTION: In this sea salt particle cleaning method, a moving body 31, whereupon a wiping body 32 is mounted, is inserted from the outside of an external container 3 between the outer surface of the storage container 1, where a spent nuclear fuel (radioactive substance) 101 is stored and sealed, and the inner surface of the external container 3 storing the storage container 1, and the wiping body 32 is brought into contact with the outer surface of the storage container 1, and the moving body 31 is moved along the circumferential direction of the storage container 1, to thereby wipe off the sea salt particles adhered to the outer surface.
