PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and equipment for shearing a gate which enable attainment of a high speed without necessitating an installation space solely for gate cutting equipment and to obtain a preform which has a smooth sheared surface and of which the residual amount of the gate is very small and uniform.;SOLUTION: In a method for shearing a gate 3 of a preform 1, the gate is moved in contact with a fixed edge 4 and the gate is sheared by making the fixed edge bite in the gate relatively.
