PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly adjust a laser irradiating position in the manufacture of a recording medium and a recording medium manufacturing master disk wherein a recording pattern is formed through a laser beam irradiating process. SOLUTION: The laser beam is branched into a main laser beam 13M and a sub-laser beam 13S, pattern irradiation corresponding to the recording pattern is performed by the main laser beam 13M, and the position of the main laser bema 13M is adjusted by the sub-laser beam 13S obtaining the positional information from the area where a pattern irradiation processing by the main laser beam 13M is performed.
