PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colorant for color filters which has fine primary particle sizes, a high coloring power, a superior dispersibility in vehicles and excellent light and heat resistance and a colorant composition for color filters and a color filter having excellent light and heat resistance and transparency.;SOLUTION: The colorant for color filters is characterized in that silica is included in the organic pigment. The content of the silica contained in the colorant for color filters is 0.001-9 wt.% based on Si to the colorant for color filters. The colorant composition for color filters is obtained by dispersing the colorant for color filters in a solvent.
