PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of detecting the swing angle of a crane by use of an inexpensive and simple inclinometer.;SOLUTION: The method of detecting the swing angle of a crane is for detecting the swing angle of the rope of a container crane or the like that hoists cargo using a wire rope 7 to transport it. Electric power and signal lines can be supplied to a spreader 4. An inclinometer 3 is installed at the spreader and a head block to detect the horizontal inclination of the spreader.
