PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image processing device that can correct reverse taking from only an image on one side in the case of scanning a color original. SOLUTION: The color image processing unit of this invention is provided with a color component binary means 30 that applies binary processing of each color component to a digital color original image obtained by digitally receiving one side of an original on both sides of which color images are printed, an edge detection means 40 that calculates edge strength to detect an edge, a reverse taking pixel detection means 50 that detects a pixel having high possibility of reverse taking, and a reverse taking correction means 60 that applies a reverse taking correction to pixels, which are discriminated to be low edge strength or highly possibly to be reverse taking, among pixels of all components binary-processed by the color component binary means 30 having a threshold value or more and generates the corrected image.
