PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic rear door controlling device capable of restricting a reduction in outer appearance of a vehicle under a full-opened state of the automatic rear door even if a biasing force of a pneumatic stay is reduced.;SOLUTION: An automatic rear door controlling device stops both a driving motor and a clutch when it is judged that an automatic rear door reaches a position before its full-opened state occurs (a result of judgement at a step S1 is YES) and releases an opening drive operation for the automatic rear door (a step S2). Then, when it is judged that the automatic rear door starts to turn in its closing direction (YES at a step S3), the clutch is operated (at a step S4) and the automatic rear door is engaged with the clutch, thereafter a control processing for weakening a restriction force is carried out (a step S5). More practically, the automatic rear door is turned gradually in its closing direction by gradually weakening a restricting force of the clutch against the automatic rear door.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
