PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable connecting/disconnecting method for an under water work machine, which can temporarily, safely, positively and simply rests in an underwater work site the underwater work machine equipped with an electric motor for carrying out underwater operations with the help of electric power from a power generating equipment set up over the ground or a ship when operations are to be suspended.;SOLUTION: A connector holder 5 is kept to be fixed to an underwater work machine equipped with an electric motor for carrying out underwater operations while electric power is being supplied from a power generating equipment 2 set up over the ground or a ship, a first connector, either one of a male type or a female type, provided for the tip end of a first cable from the electric motor, is kept to be fixed to the connector holder 5, and concurrently, a second connector, either one of a male type or a female type, to be connected to the first connector so as to be kept in a conductive state by the connector holder 5, is kept to be placed to the tip end of the second cable 4 for feeding power from the power generating equipment 2, and the second connector is thereby connected with, or released from the first connector having been fixed to the connector holder 5 underwater in a state that the underwater work machine 1 is set up over the bottom of the sea water.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
