PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for measuring the opening and closing speed of a ticket barrier gate of a parking lot for bicycles for which even unskilled persons can quickly and correctly set the opening and closing speeds of the gate. ;SOLUTION: When setting the opening and closing speeds of a ticket barrier gate of a parking lot for bicycles, which is provided with a function to change speed by selecting a specified speed set previously according to the position of the gate, in a device for controlling the drive of the opening and closing of the ticket barrier gate, the time required for the gate to move between specified positions of the gate is measured, and the resultant value or the speed obtained by calculating from the value set for the distance between these positions, and the time required for the gate to move between these positions is displayed and a value is set by referring to this displayed measured value or is set directly from this displayed speed value as opening and closing speed according to the opening and closing positions of the gate. An opening and closing speed measuring function for setting the opening and closing speed of the ticket barrier gate of a parking lot for bicycles for executing this method includes a timer function to output timing pulses ST, gate function 1, counter function 2 and display function 3 as functions to realize this method.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
