PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a penetration testing machine automatically executing operation processing such as a conversion N-value operation or the like having different coefficients used for operation in accordance with soil.;SOLUTION: A sound propagating a penetration rod 7 is detected by a sound detecting means 13 when the penetration rod 7 is penetrated into the ground, and the soil is decided by a soil decision section based on the sound detected by the sound detecting means 13. The soil conventionally decided by the sound caught by a worker makes decision processing by the soil decision section to enable the conversion N-value or the like to make operation by obtaining a soil coefficient necessary for calculating the conversion N-value or the like by the operation processing section in accordance with decided results.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
