PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide emulsion which is low in fog, high in sensitivity and high in contrast, has a small fluctuation in sensitivity due to a difference in environmental conditions during exposure and is excellent in latent image stability, moist wear resistance and reciprocity law characteristics at high illuminance.;SOLUTION: The silver halide emulsion chemically is sensitized by a compound which releases AuCh^- ions in the presence of a compound of 21-35 in the complex stability constant log β₂ with Au(I), wherein Ch is S, Se or Te.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
