PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper machine dryer and a related canvas, and to provide a technique of operating the dryer so as not to debond a tail wet paper in putting it through the dryer.;SOLUTION: This paper machine dryer is operated as follows: when tail wet paper sheets 1' accompanied by the dryer canvas are put through the dryer by successively turning them on the dryer roll 11 and the suction roll 12 of the dryer, the substantial air permeation level of the dryer canvas lying at a position corresponding to the traveling position of the wet paper sheets 1' in passage through at least the interval between the dryer roll 1 and the suction roll 12 is changed by a relevant means during the passage thereof.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
