PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording head cleaning controller and a recorder at a lower cost by reducing the capacity of a storage medium using a time measuring means where the capacity of storage medium required for time information is low.;SOLUTION: Starting from code A, four years including a leap year at the first year constitute one cycle wherein the time of code a indicating the time between code A and code E represents the minimum unit of time measurement, i.e., 1 hour. Capacity of the storage medium is reduced by a 'constant period time measuring means' in which a starting point A is set at 0 o'clock on January 1st in a leap year, the time is measured, in units of 1 hour, between 0 o'clock on January 1st in 0th year and 23 o'clock December 31st in 3rd year and that operation is repeated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
