PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermally assisted magnetic recording head and a thermally assisted magnetic recording device which requires less manufacturing processes, makes density higher and accelerates operation speed.;SOLUTION: A thermally assisted magnetic recording head 1 is provided with a GMR sensor 3, and a thin film magnetic transducer 4. The thin film magnetic transducer 4 is provided with a magnetic circuit constituted of yokes 33, 43 and magnetic poles 40, 41 located at yoke tips, a magnetic coil 44 interlinked with this magnetic circuit, and a spacer 42 filling a magnetic gap between the magnetic poles 40 and 41 through dielectric bodies 45, 45'. The spacer 42 is heated by supplying a current to the spacer 42, a leak magnetic field is generated by supplying a current based on a recording signal to the recording coil 44, the magnetic recording layer 8a of the magnetic disk 8 is heated, and recording is performed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
