When inside seismic observation data processing manner

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for processing earthquake observation data which is capable of observing earthquake motion in high density without using much expense and work. SOLUTION: When an earthquake occurs while an observation device consisting of monitoring video-cameras 11 to 13 and photographing equipments placed in and out of various buildings including a bank and a convenience store is photographing, image data recorded with these monitoring video-cameras are sent to a calculation processing center 15 on-line. With a data processor 16 placed in the calculation processing center 15, the image date sent from each of the monitoring video-cameras 11 to 13 are analyzed into still images 18 and part of subject recorded in the image data is binarized. The moving distance of the boundary point is calculated with an operator 17 and the displacement time history of the earthquake motion at the location where the monitoring video-cameras 11 to 13 are placed is measured.
