PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply selecting method for appropriately selecting a power supply with the least environmental load from among multiple varying kinds of power supplies, by considering indirect environment load increasing factors and environment load decreasing factors, while satisfying quality which a user requires. PSOLUTION: The power supply selecting method includes a first step of inputting user requirement information, a second step of inputting environment load information, a third step of inputting power system network information, a fourth step of selecting a power supply with the least environment load, by calculating the environment load for each of a plurality of power supplies, and a fifth step of evaluating the quality of electric power. In the fourth step, an environment load reduction amount is subtracted from the calculated environment load if the power supply contains a factor for reducing the environment load; and the environment load increase amount is added if a power quality improvement auxiliary device is required to select the power supply with the least environment load after subtraction or addition.
