PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an unfired heat recovery method and a device for recovering unfired heat from exhaust gas of low temperature with high efficiency, where sufficient unfired heat recovery efficiency is not obtained by the conventional method as to the unfired heat recovery from the exhaust gas of a gas fired prime mover running in an oxygen excess atmosphere. PSOLUTION: The unfired heat recovery device comprises a catalyst layer filled with a methane oxidizing catalyst carrying iridium and additionally platinum, if necessary, in a zirconia carrier, and a heat exchanger arranged on the downstream, and exhaust gas is passed into the device.
