PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of decomposing ureas in exhaust gas finally into nitrogen, and an exhaust gas treatment apparatus suitable for the method.;SOLUTION: The exhaust gas treatment apparatus 100 has an absorption column 10 as a collecting means for absorbing ureas in exhaust gas 60 into water 50 by bringing the exhaust gas 60 into contact with the water 50, a vaporizer 23 as an introduction means for introducing ammonia by hydrolyzing urea into an exhaust gas (a primary treatment gas 61) from which the urea is removed by passing through the column 10, a heater 20 such as an in-line burner having a combustion part 21 upstream from the vaporizer 23, and a reactor 30 as a catalytic reaction means comprising an ammonia decomposition catalyst part 31 for decomposing ammonia etc., in the primary treatment gas 61 and a denitrification catalyst part 33 for decomposing nitrogen oxides etc., produced in the course of the decomposition of ammonia.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
