PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digitizing apparatus and a method for realizing batch digitizing in which damage to media is suppressed by accelerating processing time of the batch digitizing. PSOLUTION: A batch digitizing module 22 controls a videocassette recorder for efficient batch digitizing by using a videocassette recorder control module 25 on the basis of logging data optimized by: a family clip generation module 23 which arranges the acquired logging data in ascending order by start time, and groups them as a family clip; and a continuous family generation module 24 which arranges the family clip generated by the family clip generation module as a continuous family.
