PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the bend of a cable core end without reducing a critical current value by inserting a bend correcting jig into a former in a high- temperature superconducting cable core, following the correction of the bend of the former, and correcting the bend of a cable core. SOLUTION: A bend correcting jig 2 is inserted in a former 1, and carried forward by ironing the former 1 by means of a bearing-shaped pipe ironing part 3 near the front end of the bend correcting jig. By gradually carrying the bend correcting jig 2 forward, a cable core having a length required for terminal treatment can be formed linearly. The force for correcting bend is applied directly to the former, therefore, the metal material of the former serves as a buffer, thereby preventing stress from being concentrated on a part of a superconducting material, and the critical current value of the superconducting material from being reduced. The bend correcting jig 2, preferably, has such a mechanism as to be flexible at the time of insertion into the former, and be shaped into a linearly rigid rod after it is inserted.
