PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate volatile organic compounds from waste water using compact facilities having high thermal efficiency when the ground water or waste water such as industrial effluent contains the volatile organic compounds like trichloroethylene or tetrachloroethylene.;SOLUTION: The waste water containing the volatile organic compounds is led into a vacuum evaporator 1 via nozzles 4 disposed at the bottom thereof and discharged from an outlet 5 disposed by the prescribed height H higher than the nozzles.
