PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new composite particles of silica-calcium carbonate having both a characteristic of synthesized silica and a characteristic of aragonite type columnar calcium carbonate, a method for producing the same, as well as a composite composition and a composite containing the composite particles.;SOLUTION: The method for producing composite particles of silica-calcium carbonate comprises producing the composite particles by having fine synthesized silica particles directly carried and fixed on the surface of the aragonite type columnar calcium carbonate particles having a major axis diameter of 0.5-50 m, a minor axis diameter of 0.05-5 m, and an aspect ratio of 5-25, with coexisting of the fine synthesized silica particles having an average particle diameter of the primary particles of 1-100 nm during carbonation reaction of the producing process for the aragonite type columnar calcium carbonate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
