PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject yarn capable of providing stretch lace excellent in stretchability and touch feeling without producing fly waste by applying an auxiliary yarn comprising a soluble fiber onto the surface of a main yarn obtained by winding spun yarn around the core yarn having elasticity under specific conditions. ;SOLUTION: An auxiliary yarn comprising a soluble fiber, e.g. an alkaline solvent- soluble yarn comprising a polyester-based copolymer or water-soluble yarn comprising a polyvinyl alcohol-based polymer is wound around a main yarn obtained by winding spun yarn such as cotton around a core yarn having elasticity, e.g. a polyurethane-based synthetic fiber in the direction reverse to winding direction of the spun yarn, and the surface of the main yarn is covered with the auxiliary yarn. Furthermore, preferably, the auxiliary yarn is wound around the main yarn under such conditions that covering coefficient CF of the formula [D is a fineness (d) of the auxiliary yarn; T is winding frequency (t/m) of the auxiliary yarn] becomes ≥3,500 and yarn for stretch lace is interknitted with an elastic yarn by using a raschel machine to form a lace base fabric and the lace base fabric is immersed in a solvent in which the auxiliary yarn is soluble and the auxiliary yarn is removed by dissolution to produced the objective stretch lace.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
